SIMULATOR VISUAL SYSTEM COMPOSITION:
GRAPHICS GENERATION SYSTEM:With COTS PC and FPGA technology, the professional simulator graphics generation system provided by SSD enables users to obtain realistic 3D scene and higher image quality and performance. The system is tightly integrated with hardware and software to maximize the performance of the rendering software and graphics cards. The system includes high, medium and low grade products, which can meet the different technical requirements of military and civilian.
Display System:
The main function of the display system is to display the graphic images produced by the graphic generation system to the pilot through certain display devices, which is the main window for the pilot to obtain useful information in flight. According to the different characteristics and principles of display imaging, it can be divided into real image display and virtual image display. The real image display system can be divided into forward projection display system and back projection display system according to the different projection modes. The flight simulator uses a spherical projection screen structure, the front projection screen display system, rear projection screen display system and virtual image display system provided by SSD can meet the technical requirements of military and civilian.
VISUAL DATABASE GENERATION SYSTEM:
The visual database consists mainly of digital elevation data, vector data, satellite image data of different accuracy, and airport model to form a complete database, according to the technical requirements of each flight simulator, each of the above data indicators are different. The database and airport model developed by Saisida meets the requirements of the evaluation and use rules of military and civil flight simulators. At the same time, the database is supplemented according to the specific requirements of users.
Simulator Visual System workflow:
The main simulation system receives the control signal from the simulated cockpit, and then transmits the calculated attitude parameters and the setting parameters of the instructor’s console to the graphics generation system While the graphics generation system returns the simulated state values (HAT, collision detection, etc.) to the main simulation system, the scene database is allocated to each channel rendering node in real time, the generated image is then fed through a video signal line into a geometric correction/edge fusion machine. After electronic edge fusion and geometric correction, the image is transmitted to the corresponding projector and projected onto the display device.
